Swim Instructors & Instructor Aides Needed
Join Parks’ Aquatic Specialist team of swim instructors and instructor aides to ensure the safety, fun, and fitness of thousands of children by teaching them to swim.
Three Learn to Swim sessions are offered in July and August, Monday through Friday, at Parks’ outdoor pools in all five boroughs. Swim instructors and instructor aides may work full or part-time hours. Supervisory positions are also available.
Swim Instructors
Recreation Specialists/Swim Instructors earn $18.21 per hour to teach Learn to Swim Programs. American Red Cross - WSI or equivalent instructor certification and ARC CPR or equivalent are mandatory.
Instructor Aides
We also seek Instructor Aides, who earn between $10.06 and $13.55 per hour, depending on experience, to assist swimming instructors in teaching children to swim.
